Requesting a License Key

There are two different ways to start up the Product Activation Dialog

  • choose Programs → Unified Automation → UaGateway → Product Activation from the start menu
  • right click on the Notification Area Icon and select “Product Activation Dialog”

In demo mode the UaGateway will run for 1 hour. After this demo period has expired the UaGateway shuts down, closes all connections, and the Product Activation Dialog will show up.

Whatever way you prefer, you will need administrator privileges to run the Product Activation.

To obtain your license key, fill out the user information, select the features you would like to purchase from the list and click on the button “Export...” to save the file licenseData.txt to a location of your choice.

The standard version of UaGateway includes Data Access functionality for OPC UA, OPC COM DA and OPC XML-DA. The support of Alarms and Events as well as Historical Access has to be purchased seperately.

A dialog window will show up containing the e-mail adress activate@unifiedautomation.com for ordering your license. Please send the generated license request to this address.

After receiving the License Key from Unified Automation use the Product Activation Dialog to activate your license.

If you would like to purchase additional features later, use this dialog window again to request a new license file.

Activating your UaGateway

When your purchase order is confirmed you will receive an e-mail containing a license file to activate your UaGateway. Open up the Product Activation Dialog again, press the button “Import...” to import the license file and confirm with “Activate License”. A successful import of a valid license will then be indicated in the feature list.

If you have purchased the standard version of UaGateway (only Data Access functionality), you can alternatively enter the product key by hand.
