This HowTo describes how to connect to the local UaGateway with UaExpert using Security Policy None.

Locate and start the client UaExpert. To add UaGateway to the Project view of UaExpert, open the “Add Server” dialog window (either by choosing Server → Add... or by pressing the “+” button), double-click on “Double click to Add Server...”, add the address of the UaGateway to the input field of the dialog window and press the “OK” button.

This can be done in different ways:

opc.tcp://<IP Address>:4850
opc.tcp://localhost:4850

Expand the newly added entry under “Custom Discovery”, select “None - None” and press the button “OK”.

If the check box “Connect Automatically” was unchecked, press the plug connector button to establish the connection to the UaGateway. You are now able to browse the UaGateway’s address space in the Address Space Window of UaExpert.

To check in which mode the UaGateway runs (demo or valid license mode), drag and drop the variable License into the Default DA View Window. How to order a license key is described under Requesting a License Key.
