Configuration

The Configuration Tool is used to configure the UaGateway's runtime settings. It is a specialized UA-Client, capable of the OPC UA DI Profile. The Configuration Tool connects to the UaGateway using an OPC UA connection. To use the Configuration Tool the UaGateway has to be started and running.

The Configuration Tool is used to:

  • add/remove underlying OPC UA Servers
  • add/remove underlying OPC COM DA Servers
  • configure connection parameters and timeouts regarding these OPC Servers
  • monitor the connection status to the underlying OPC Servers

First startup of the Configuration Tool

On the first start the Configuration Tool will create a UA application instance certificate. Therefor several informations are requested and must be set in the dialog.

To add and connect different underlying servers, the Configuration Tool of the UaGateway provides a GUI based configuration. To start the Configuration Tool either right click on the System Tray Icon and select "Configuration Tool" or select Program menu > Unified Automation > UaGateway > UaGateway Configuration. It is recommended to validate and accept the certificate of the UaGateway permanently to connect to it.


After the connection has been established, the Configuration Tool starts up showing a dialog to check for updates automatically with a default interval. Feel free to change this interval to your fit and click "Ok". Now the Configuration Tool is ready to use and to configure the underlying servers.
