Evaluation License

You can use the UaModeler without any license key. You can use the UaModeler for creating you Information Model and for generating Source code of the Unified Automation SDK. The Code will run in Unified Automation SDK only. When running in evaluation mode you can:

  1. edit, modify and enhance the opened information model
  2. load Companion Specifications in NodeSet2 XML format
  3. create and open, save your Information Model as *.ua file (UaModeler binary file)
  4. generate source code depending on the selected generator template

There is no limitation in the evaluation mode, you can unlimitedly generate code, load and save information models with up to 64.000 types or instances. Except for exporting Information Model in NodeSet2 XML format there is a limitation to the number of ten (10) Types or Instances as maximum. To overcome this limitation of exporting into NodeSet2 XML format you need a license key, enabling this feature.

Runtime License

You need a Runtime License for UaModeler for exporting Information Models in NodeSet2 XML format, i.e. for exporting models based on the standardized schema http://opcfoundation.org/UA/2011/03/UANodeSet.xsd. This schema is defined by the OPC Foundation and details of the semantics of the schema are described in part 6 of the OPC UA specification.

If you use the UaModeler to generate code for Unified Automation's .NET Server SDK and High Performance SDK, the XML file is exported implicitly. For these two use cases (SDKs) it is required to license UaModeler for generating code for these SDKs. Once UaModeler is licensed with appropriate license key file, there are no constraints for the maximum number of nodes to be exported as NodeSet2 XML.

NOTE: if you already own a Unified Automation OPC UA SDK, you can request one (1) license key file free of charge. Please contact "activate@unified-automation.com". In that case please add your customer id to this e-mail.

Requesting a License Key

For requesting a license file you need to create a license request file with the Product Activation Dialog. There are two different ways to start up this:

choose Programs → Unified Automation → UaModeler → Product Activation from the start menu click at Help → License Status → License now... in UaModeler gui
