HowTo: Add and Connect to a COM Server

This HowTo describes how to add and connect to a local COM DA3 Server from UaGateway using local discovery.

To add and connect to a COM Server with the UaGateway, start the Configuration Tool (by right clicking on the Notification Area Icon).

Locate the Devices Address Space window on the left side of the Configuration Tool and select "OPC COM DA Servers".

In the Main Window, a list of all configured COM Servers will appear. Click on "Add Server..." to add a new COM Server to the UaGateway.

A new window will show up where the information which is necessary to connect to the COM Server has to be entered. To add a local COM Server, expand the tree at "Local" and select the desired COM DA Server (here: Kepware’s KEPServerEx).

Warning
