UaGateway  1.5.1.404
Configuration Tool cannot Connect

During first startup (directly after installation) the certificate for the Configuration Tool is generated and trusted by the UaGateway. This directly enables a secured (encrypted) connection for configuring the UaGateway. The Configuration Tool is a specialized UA Client, doing all configuration via UA Methods.

Note
To be able to connect UaGateway with the Configuration Tool on a secured connection, the Configuration Tool’s UA Client Certificate must be trusted by the UaGateway.

The Configuration Tool’s UA Certificate is specific to the user who started the Configuration Tool. If you log on as a different user (different from the one that installed the UaGateway) and start the Configuration Tool for the first time in this new user context, you will be asked to create a new application instance certificate.

This new certificate is, like any other UA Client certificate, not automatically trusted and the new user will not be able to connect to the UaGateway unless the certificate is trusted. Trusting certificates is a manual step only an administrator should be allowed to do. The UaGateway certificate store management can be accessed via the Administration Tool.

Note
Use the Administration Tool’s tab Certificates to trust this new certificate: Right-click on the untrusted certificate in the list and select “Trust” from the context menu.
