The setup procedure will install an icon in the Windows Notification Area. This icon shows whether the UaGateway is running (UA icon showing a green triangle) or stopped (UA icon showing a red square). At right clicking on this icon, a context menu will open which you can use to start the tools to administrate and configure the UaGateway or to enter your license information. However, you will need administrator privileges to perform administrative changes to the UaGateway configuration. You can remove the Notification Area Icon by choosing “Quit” from the context menu.

Start/Stop/Restart UaGateway

The UaGateway can be stopped at any time. It is advisable to enable the UaGateway’s Notification Area Icon as it contains a graphical indication wheter the UaGateway is running (green triangle) or stopped (red square), like shown above.

The UaGateway process is installed and registered as Windows NT service. You can start, stop and restart Windows services using the Service Control Manager (SCM). As an alternative you can start and stop the UaGateway Service via command line:

net start "UAGateway OPC Data Access Server"
net stop "UAGateway OPC Data Access Server"
