Manually Registering UaGateway at a Local Discovery Server

It is possible to enable/disable the registration of UaGateway at a Local Discovery Server via the Administration Tool (tab “General”). However, it is also possible to perform this registration manually. The necessary steps are described in the following.

Select “Run...” from the start menu, enter “mmc” and confirm with “OK”. A new window will open.

Select File → Add/Remove Snap-in... from the menu. A dialog window will open. Click on the button “Add...”.

Another window will open. Select “Certificates” from the list and confirm with “Add”.

In the next window (Certificates snap-in), select “Computer account” from the radio button list and continue with “Next”.

Leave the default settings in the next dialog (Select Computer) untouched and press “Finish”.

Close the window “Add Standalone Snap-in” with “Close”. The list in the window “Add/Remove Snap-in” should now show the entry “Certificates (Local Computer)”. Finish by pressing the button “OK”.

Expand the tree down to Certificates → UA Applications → Certificates. Right click on the folder in the tree and select All Tasks → Import... from the context menu.

The Certificate Import Wizard will open. In the next window, click on “Browse” and navigate to Documents and Settings → All Users → Application Data → UnifiedAutomation → UaGateway → PKI → CA → certs. No files will be listed because by default only .cer and .crt files are shown. Select “All files (*.*)” at “Files of type”. Now you are able to select the certificate file “uagateway.der”. Confirm by clicking on “Open” and proceed to the next step.

In the next window, proceed with the default settings.

On the last page of the wizard, you can review your settings. Press the button “Finish”.

The Uagateway’s certificate will now show up in the list.
