Installation

Requirements

The setup for the UaGateway installs all required dependencies needed to run the application. To run the setup, administrator rights are required. The UaGateway has been tested on WinXP SP3, WinVista and Win 7. Even though the UaGateway is a 32Bit application it can be run on 64Bit Windows using the 32Bit emulation mode (WOW32).

Installation Procedure

Being a local administrator you can execute the setup procedure. The setup will guide you through the installation. Follow the steps by clicking the “Next” button.

  • Execute the installer file uagateway-win32-x86-vs2008sp1-[VERSION]-[BUILD].exe.
  • Read the license agreement and confirm.
  • The dialog “Choose Components” shows what will be installed on your computer during setup.
  • Choose an install folder or use the default.
  • The setup will add a start menu entry and copy all required files.
  • The UaGateway will be installed and registered as a service.
  • At the end of the installation process, you’ll be prompted to select the TCP port to be used by UaGateway. The default port is 4850.
  • The setup will finish and start up a wizard that guides you through the first administrative steps: Initial Startup of the Administration Tool

After the installation has finished there will be start menu entries for all applications and tools. You will find these in the folder Unified Automation.

Uninstallation

The UaGateway can be uninstalled using the “Uninstall” link in the start menu. Alternatively you can uninstall the application via Control Panel → Add and Remove Programs. The Uninstaller will remove all files and the start menu entry and will unregister the UaGateway service.
